The One Who is the source of all love and affection. His Love is intense, constant and lasting. Al-Wadood is the One Who is deserving of all love and affection! Al-Wadood loves the believers and the believers love Him more than anything.
The One who loves His believing slaves and His believing slaves love Him. His love to His slaves is His Will to be merciful to them and praise them.
Allah, Exalted be He, says, “Ask the forgiveness of your Lord and repent to Him. Surely, my Lord is Most Merciful, Most Loving.” (Surat Hood, 11:90)
This name means the One who loves His Prophets, Messengers and obedient servants. He is the most beloved (Al-Mawdood) who deserves to be loved withall our hearts.
Perfect faith entails loving Allah more than one’s family, oneself and everything else.
