A collection of hadith compiled by Imam Muhammad al-Bukhari (d. 256 AH/870 AD) (rahimahullah).

Sahih Muslim is a collection of hadith compiled by Imam Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj al-Naysaburi (rahimahullah).

Sunan an-Nasa’i is a collection of hadith compiled by Imam Ahmad an-Nasa’i (rahimahullah).

Sunan Abi Dawud is a collection of hadith compiled by Imam Abu Dawud Sulayman ibn al-Ash’ath as-Sijistani (rahimahullah).

Jami` at-Tirmidhi is a collection of hadith compiled by Imam Abu `Isa Muhammad at-Tirmidhi (rahimahullah).

Sunan Ibn Majah is a collection of hadith compiled by Imam Muhammad bin Yazid Ibn Majah al-Qazvini (rahimahullah).

It is considered to be from the earliest extant collections of hadith.

Nawawi’s Forty is a compilation of forty hadiths by Imam al-Nawawi, most of which are from Sahih Muslim and Sahih al-Bukhari.

Riyadh al-Saaliheen or The Meadows of the Righteous, also referred to as The Gardens of the Righteous, is a compilation of verses from the Qur’an supplemented by hadith narratives written by Al-Nawawi from Damascus.

Hadith Qudsi are the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) as revealed to him by the Almighty Allah. Hadith Qudsi (or Sacred Hadith) are so named because, unlike the majority of Hadith which are Prophetic Hadith, their authority is traced back not to the Prophet but to the Almighty.

The Shamā’il Muhammadiyyah, often referred to as Shamā’il al-Tirmidhi or simply Shamā’il, is a collection of hadiths compiled by the 9th-century scholar Tirmidhi regarding the intricate details of the Islamic prophet Muhammad’s appearance, belongings, manners and life.
